Supernatural is a show that's been on air for twelve years this year and has been recently picked up for a season 13 which doesn't happen very often. To do that, this show needs a large following and it had to have come from somewhere; Season 1.

Residue is an independent British made Netflix Show. With only three 45 minute episodes, this show has a good slow burning mystery wrapped in conspiracy and horror.
Set in a near future after an event leaving a section of the city in a QZ (quarantine zone), a photo-journalist Jennifer Preston (Natalia Tena) recognises not everything is as it seems. She shares her suspicions with her partner Jonas (Iwan Rheon), a government employee who realises that there is more going on than meets the eye. This is a film that slipped under the radar upon its release and I would like to shine a spotlight on it for a while.
Written and directed by Academy Award winning writer William Monahan (The Departed 2006) is a high in suspense thriller with a well articulated game of cat and mouse. M. Night Shyamalan's latest film is a psychological horror thriller and playing to his strong suit, it gets unusual.
Starting with a very normal yet cliché scene to an abduction movie which introduces us to the captives in the briefest of detail. Then an unusual turn for a modern movie, opening credits with an immersive score, letting our ears absorb what is to be the tone of this tale. It's a slow moving piece of music with a monstrous feel hidden within it, building a sense of fear of what is to come. Marvel Universe Live is a thrilling piece of entertainment for all the family. Although sadly, that is all it is.
Opening straight into the action and quickly switching into tropes of the horror genre; it was obvious that this was going to keep us on our toes. The episode maintained its strength without breaking a sweat as we follow Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) on what could be his toughest adventure yet.
The crime genre has become a popular one over the years and it is certainly a breath of fresh air to have a period crime drama set in prohibition America which is what Ben Affleck's fourth time in the directors chair brings us. We are quickly introduced to the movies lead character Joe Coughlin (Affleck), an outlaw in 1920s Boston who is set on a revenge story after a tragedy but then seeks power and control.
Welcome people. This is my first post and that makes this a trial. I hope it will be visible for you all but time will tell.
I have started this site as a hobby as I'm passionate about Film/TV and Books/Comics. That doesn't mean this page will stay strictly to those categories, I may try to "critique" an album or a convention, maybe even places of interest. I imagine this will mostly be blogging Movies accept I like to think I've put in twist on this, I'm allowing you to REQUEST a review from me. It may not get chosen or it may take me some time to get around to it but once I've announced the Request Review, it will get done. If you want to request a review from me then you can find my Facebook page or Twitter account via the designated icons on the right of this page. Then simply send me the Title, whether its a Movie, Series, Novel or Comic to me via a Tweet or Post starting with '#Request' and we'll see what fun we have. This page is as much for you guys as it is for me so you can discuss your opinions of the topic at hand. As long as you remain friendly with your differences accepting that people are different then this should be a great place to discuss possible theories etc. You are more than welcome to engage me on Facebook and Twitter about media related topics and I will try to answer you the best I can. For those that may think my updates come at strange times then that is because I'm based in the UK. My first Cynic Critique review will be Live by Night Directed by and Starring Ben Affleck and should be up within 48 hours of now all being well. Mr. Cynic |
