Marvel Universe Live is a thrilling piece of entertainment for all the family. Although sadly, that is all it is. It opens with Thor taking centre stage and destroying the Cosmic Cube (Tesseract, it was in the Captain America Movie) and spreading the shards across the universe to prevent such strong power falling into the wrong hands. Thor then leaves the stage in a cloud of smoke with some great lighting effects while flying up off stage on a wire. Smoke clears, lights go down and a sinister green light shines down and with it, Loki. He engages the audience in a fun insulting manner while spewing his plan to join the shards together for ultimate power and control.
From this intro it has set up a simple outline of what the story is going to be. As the stage blacks out, the monitor comes on, displaying a wonderful rendition of a New York skyline. The camera then moves us through the city, high above the roads and between the skyscrapers in a swinging motion as it heads to Stark Tower. For those moments we were Spider-man. Lights shine down again, Tony Stark is on stage, the actors performance is great as he moves and acts in time to his dialogue which is being broadcast across the arena to the audience. Then enters Peter Parker, the actor representing this character is majorly overacting. I was shocked to discover that all the dialogue is on the soundtrack, the actors on stage don't say a word. Yet as bad as that may seem, it has allowed the voice cast from the animated Marvel TV shows to reprise these characters and do what they do best. Soon these characters suit up, the costumes resembled the movie's in a spectacular manner, that goes for almost all the characters. So detailed and well fitted to the actors and yet practical for the stunts which had to be performed. Although most of the stunts seem unnecessary, especially as the they ride these stunt bikes to the point where it's just out of character with nothing more than mediocre tricks to display. The real talent in this was the actors keeping up and moving in time to the soundtrack, especially as combat noises were incorporated into the soundtrack with the dialogue. This left a lot more room for error in my opinion and the entire cast did exceptionally well to keep up. With it's simple plot and its many unnecessarily used mediocre stunts, this show falls flat to entertain the excitement anticipated in me. Although for the young children (I wouldn't say older than 10), this would probably be a dream. So parents, take your children if you get a chance and make a dream come true, its only 90 minutes of your time for probably days of joy for your child. Mr. Cynic is rating this a 5/10

I used to collect Marvel issues. I don't remember anymore when I stopped doing this. It seems after we graduate from school and start building our family, most of us lose our childhood identity. We have become too busy forming bonds and making a living. We forget the little things that make us feel alive. I am sure it's never too late for all of us to return to our childhood hobbies or try some new ones for the first time.
