Directed by the Safdie brothers (Heaven Knows What), Good Time is a superb example of great acting and a solid screen play in this character driven intense crime drama. Good Time is real, intense and gritty bringing the story and the characters to life effortlessly. It takes a recognised plot of a botched robbery and implements an original take. With a gripping narrative, always accelerating onward creating intensity and building upon it.
The film is almost entirely close-ups, increasing intensity as the audience feel more involved. Locked so tightly on Pattinson (Twilight Saga) allows him to flaunt a never before seen abundance of talent. Although staying so close with Patterson you can't help but feel some supporting characters need some extra screen time to shine. A synth score by Daniel Lopatin (AKA Oneohtrix Point Never) was icing on the cake as it was so mood enhancing and atmospheric, increasing the intensity. Good Time is gripping, raw and did I mention intense? I cannot stress how much of a good time you'll have watching it. Mr. Cynic Rates this a 9/10
